Last night, our CC community had a gathering to discuss curriculums that we love and the ins and outs of what "everyday" may look like when using Classical Conversations as you homeschool. There were moms there that have participated in our CC community previously and there were several new moms and dads in attendance. This will be our 3rd year with our community, so much of the information was not new to me.
Why did I go, then? Because I left our director's house feeling encouraged and excited about our upcoming year! Community has been such an important part of our homeschooling journey. Not only as a source of encouragement to me, but also for my kiddos. It doesn't have to be a CC community particularly, but I would encourage every homeschooling mama or dad to find a group of like-minded people, who are where you are in this day to day journey of homeschooling. There is such beauty in being able to text or call someone when you are at a low point.....when you don't feel like you (or your child) will make it through today's math lesson alive....or you just need a listening ear because you don't think it's quite appropriate to cry to your kids about your frustrations. (Anyone else have days like this? No? Just me??) "How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!" Ps. 133:1
