Ahh, Valentine's Day...there were times in my life when I was not a fan of this day, but my sentiments have changed over the years. This has become a day to show my family how BIG my love is for them. Granted, it would be fun if my budget were as big as the love I have for my people, but that's not what it's about, right? Here are some inexpensive and fun ways to show some love to your family: 1. Everyone woke up to a post-it note heart on their bathroom mirror that listed all of things that I love about them. 2. Overnight cinnamon rolls were made for everyone to enjoy for breakfast. I'll post the recipe below because you will definitely want to make these. They are incredible! I got this recipe from my good friend and they are so easy to make. These may become a tradition in our family. 3. Each of my kiddos and my hubs had a small basket of goodies to open at breakfast. Nothing expensive...the baskets were made up of homemade cards, new pens and a few dollars for the kids, candy and a Starbucks gift card for my husband. I used this idea found here. 4. To add some fun to our homeschool day, the kids made these fun, Valentine's joke tellers. You can find them here. 5. I also got each of my kiddos a canvas so that they could create some "love-ly" art today. They both love painting and drawing, so this was the thing that they were most excited about today....besides the candy, of course. 6. We're ending our day with a fancy family dinner...complete with the recipe for this awesome goodness and chocolate fondue for dessert. Yes, please! 7. And finally, we'll finish off the day watching this gem. P.S. The hubs and I have a "kids-free" dinner date planned for the weekend. Hallelujah!!
Happy "LOVE" Day, everyone!! Overnight cinnamon roll recipe: Ingredients: 1 cup pecans-chopped 15 frozen yeast rolls 1 pkg. large vanilla pudding (not instant) 1 stick of unsalted butter 1 c. brown sugar Put the pecans on the bottom of a 9x13 pan. Lay frozen rolls on pecans in a 3x5 pattern. Sprinkle dry pudding over top of rolls. Put brown sugar and butter in a pan. Boil, stirring constantly. Pour butter mixture over rolls evenly. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Spray a piece of saran wrap with non-stick spray and put over rolls. Cover with a towel and leave out on the counter. Let rise overnight. Remove wrap and towel in the morning and bake in oven at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Flip pan over on to a large plate.
